Please do not neglect the Tibetan Thangkas from Nepal. These are all hand-made as they have been made for centuries. Tibetan art from Nepal is currently the best purchase you can make in terms of what you get back. Compared to the amount of work required to create such an original painting, you pay only an apple and an egg for a simple reason: Nepal is one of the poorest countries in this world. I have selected all these pieces personally in Kathmandu this year. And my experience and my love for the Tibetan culture goes back to the 1970s.

Dear Clients

I am back from an unplanned stay in hospital. This happened at the worst moment possible for artelino as I had made major software updates recently. Over the last two weeks we had some minor software problems with your consignments. All know issues are solved by now. But I am asking for your understanding that we need a few more days to answer all your e-mails. Apart from e-mails ALL operations are normal again including our auction schedule which is back to two auctions per week. - Dieter

US Gallery Contacts Wang Yuhui      Monday, June 16, 2008

Wang Yuhui reports that a US gallery has recently contacted him. They had seen his painting series Accident on the artelino web site. Although no artelino client has yet contacted us about Wang Yuhui's paintings, it is good to know that artelino's discoveries are at least noticed by others and that we move something for the artists.

Impression of Dongchuan      Can't be True!

I just received the follwoing message from artelino's art agent in China:

"And please don't sell Zhu Rui's Dongchuan Impression no.1 and no.2. He sold all his stock in China for prices of 8000-10000 RMB, about 1150-1440 USD. So please turn them back with the other prints the next time."

artelino had three copies of this print for reserves of 320 and 400 USD for months in our auctions and in Buy Direct and nobody wanted them. Dear clients and friends of Chinese prints, where is your hunting instinct?

To realize that I have not been able to get the message across, really hurts me!
